Testimonies of Truth

I hired Rumba and soon noticed that large sums of money were missing from client files. Rumba was taking my client’s money orders. Immigrants have to pay fees to the Dept. of Homeland Security and so Rumba was stealing those money orders, running a line through the payee’s name (the payee was the Department of Homeland Security), and then cashing them at a nearby Arvest. After stealing immigrants’ hard-earned money which was meant to pay for their green card renewals, DACA renewals, work permits, family petitions, etc., Rumba got taken to jail and then pled guilty, but now lies about their past and about the good people who attempt to protect organizations from the embezzler.

I chose not to participate in the investigation and prosecution of Barrera’s case because I thought Barrera’s criminal punishment would be sufficient for stealing thousands of dollars from me. I did not want them deported to an unsafe place. However, because they continue to spread lies about people who become aware of the embezzlement, my inaction caused more suffering. I am telling my story now because they continue to control and influence nonprofits doing great work across the South, and I feel that I have a moral imperative to share this information.

I chose to protect Barrera from deportation and in so doing I have exposed countless Arkansans to the wrath of an angry thief who will continue to manipulate until everyone learns these truths. My law partner was right to proceed with the criminal charge. And, now I have to speak up.”

“After Rumba embezzled and then claimed really good people framed them, I heard that they had become involved in other nonprofits. I contacted those nonprofits and sent them the evidence. When Rumba found out, I was verbally attacked and later Rumba attempted to extort me. I feel for their fear of embarassment and exclusion, but if they ever want to be truly known and truly loved, then for goodness’ sake, own it by apologizing to Kedron and committing to being a better partner in community.”

“I was on a nonprofit board with Rumba. They constantly accused us all of being terrible people and of being too slow to respond to their messages. They were a constant source of division and strife and seemed intent on making sure we knew that no one was more woke than them.”

“I was on the board of a statewide nonprofit with Rumba. Their capacities for division and name calling led to the closing of our nonprofit. They tried to get all of the money that was left from the nonprofit but we gave it to another trans nonprofit instead.”
